Remote working infrastructure platform Firstbase founder, Chris Herd, will participate in an exclusive chat at a Startup Grind Aberdeen gathering next month.

This event will feature the founder and CEO of Firstbase as he discusses the strategies that propelled his success from the northern coast of Scotland to Silicon Valley.

The event, titled From Aberdeen to the World – Chris Herd’s $65M Journey of Scaling and Exiting, is scheduled for February 19th at the ONE Tech Hub in Aberdeen.

Herd will engage in a discussion with Beena Sharma, CEO of CCU International, where they will delve into the practical lessons learned throughout his journey, which includes raising over $65 million (£52m) in funding and achieving a successful exit through a strategic acquisition by AppDirect.

Startup Grind Aberdeen has indicated that Herd will reveal how he transformed what was regarded as a ‘useless’ and ‘uninvestable’ idea into a global triumph, offering valuable insights for aspiring entrepreneurs in Scotland.

Established in 2019, Firstbase aims to enhance worker autonomy through distributed work, utilising a platform that combines SaaS automation with a ‘global physical operations engine’.

According to the company, this platform empowers organisations to oversee the entire employee lifecycle and manage their assets on a global scale.

Most recently, the firm announced a partnership with global office supplier WeWork in November, enabling remote workers using Firstbase’s platform to access flexible co-working spaces.

In addition to hearing Herd’s narrative, Startup Grind stated that the event will emphasise the significance of perseverance in launching a business and will provide an opportunity for entrepreneurs and investors from across the nation to connect.

Startup Grind Aberdeen hosts monthly fireside chats and networking events for Scottish entrepreneurs to engage and acquire valuable insights.
