THE National Centre for Universities and Business (NCUB) has welcomed the appointment of Andrew Griffith as the new Minister of State for the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology.

Joe Marshall, Chief Executive of NCUB, commented:

“We congratulate Andrew Griffith MP, who we look forward to working with we to tackle various challenges. Griffith must seize this opportunity to build on the work of his predecessor George Freeman MP. His experience as Economic Secretary will allow Griffith to hit the ground running and understand the importance of unlocking the power of research and innovation to drive the UK economy. Strong university-business collaborations are needed to meet our economic challenges and skills shortages, and to capture the opportunities facing the UK and the world over the coming decades.”
