THE new reported outages come shortly after the global “blue screens of death” incident caused by a CrowdStrike update less than two weeks ago. Microsoft has issued an apology as thousands of UK users experience issues with various products, including its Office suite, email service, and Microsoft-supported games.

Thousands reported outages across Microsoft services on Downdetector yesterday afternoon (30 July).

Just before 3pm, nearly two thousand users reported issues with Minecraft, while other services such as Outlook, Microsoft’s 365 admin centre, Intune, Entra, and Power Platform were also affected.

Since the outage, Microsoft has released status updates indicating that other services, such as OneDrive and Microsoft Teams, are not impacted.

The company apologised to users on X, stating, “Our experts are currently investigating the situation in order to resolve it as soon as possible.”

Less than a fortnight after the major CrowdStrike malfunction that disrupted thousands of Windows devices, Microsoft is facing another service outage.

Earlier on Tuesday, the company announced it was investigating issues with the “network infrastructure” affecting its cloud platform, Microsoft Azure.
