GLOBAL technology and investment advisory firm GP Bullhound is bringing its Northern Tech Awards to Edinburgh on 20th April.  The awards, which showcase the fastest-growing and most promising tech companies in the North of the UK, take place at the city’s Assembly Rooms, and return to Scotland’s capital for the first time since 2018.

Javed Huq, Executive Director at GP Bullhound, said: “The 10th anniversary of the Northern Tech Awards will celebrate the incredible achievements of the region’s digital economy over the past 12 months, and we look forward to shining the spotlight on some of the most notable success stories.”

The Northern Tech Awards has featured Scottish tech stories since its inception, with keynote speakers at previous events including Skyscanner co-founder Bonamy Grimes, and FanDuel co-founder Rob Jones.

Entries for the Top 100 are open until 17th March, with applying firms requiring at least three years of revenue growth with a minimum revenue of £500,000 in 2020.  An additional category, Northern Stars, is open to companies with revenues below this threshold.  Shortlisted companies will be revealed on 6th April in GP Bullhound’s annual Northern Tech 100 League Table of the fastest-growing tech companies in the North of the UK.

Previous Scottish winners at the Northern Tech Awards include TVSquared, acquired by US-based Innovid for $160 million in February 2022.

GP Bullhound has advised on multiple transactions involving Scotland-based companies in recent years, including the 2019 acquisition of DeltaDNA by San-Francisco-based gaming group Unity Technology, and the 2017 acquisition of data analytics startup Aquila Insight by Maryland-based Merkle Group.

GP Bullhound provides transaction advice and capital to entrepreneurs and founders across the globe.  Founded in 1999 in London and Menlo Park, California, today the firm has 12 offices spanning Europe, the US, and Asia.
